The image: PIT-BOX Diorama

This is our first "layout puzzle" diorama.
The
basic pieces are cut from 1/4 inch plywood.
Normal "died sawdust" effects
are used for grass,
dirt and road surface. The cyclone fence is
medium "drywall finishing" pad. The trees are
dried weeds from our back yard. The wire post
fence, is typical of the old "cable" gaurd rail highway
systems of the late
1940's. These gaurd rails
were often found on "dirt tracks" back in
the
early NASCAR days when racing was actually fun
to watch.
Our design uses a "cookie-cut" style scenery.
Each piece will be
added to an area where the track
layout diorama is incomplete. This system
allows
us to add, remove and update all diorama inserts.
This
technique offers easy access to track changes
and over-all maintanance.
Look at the "Plasticville" parts I have saved
from
our "O" gauge train layouts.
Pictures will be added to the
gallery as we design
and inplement the scenery.
